As you begin your journey from Khedmi, the trail gently weaves through ancient oak, pine, and rhododendron forests. Every step brings you closer to snow-draped meadows, frozen lakes, and panoramic views that seem almost unreal. One of the early highlights is Juda Ka Talab, a mystical lake surrounded by whispering woods and silence that soothes the soul.

The path to Kedarkantha Base Camp unveils vast alpine clearings and stunning Himalayan backdrops. As night falls, the sky turns into a canvas of stars, making every evening at camp feel like a cosmic experience.

But the true magic lies ahead.

With an early morning push, you ascend to the Kedarkantha summit (3,810 meters)—a moment of pure mountain triumph. From the top, you witness a 360-degree spectacle of snow-capped legends like Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, and Rupin and Har Ki Dun valleys, all glowing in golden light as the sun rises.

What To Expect

Day 1: Arrival at Khedmi Village

Depart from Dehradun to Khedmi (8-10 hours, including a 1.5 km trek from the main road to the village).
Check into a local homestay or guesthouse, immersing in Khedmi’s rustic Himalayan charm.
Dinner and overnight stay in Khedmi.

Day 2: Trek from Khedmi to Base Camp (5-6 hours)

Post-breakfast, begin trekking through Khedmi’s pristine forests and meadows, exclusive to this lesser-known route.
Arrive at the Base Camp (a secluded clearing or viewpoint on the Khedmi path, approximately 10,000-11,000 ft).
Evening session on overcoming challenges, followed by dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Day 3: Summit Day – Kedarkantha Peak and Return to khedmi (7-8 hours total)

Start at 3 AM for the summit climb via the offbeat Khedmi trail,
Reach Kedarkantha Peak (12,500 ft) for panoramic views of Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and other peaks.
Descend back to Base Camp by afternoon, with lunch served upon arrival.
